Disclaimer: Neither Amazon nor any of its vendors have given me any free stuff to review. I've bought all this cr*p myself and it makes me feel better about myself for a few minutes and then the bitter sadness returns, creeping in slowly after the oversize, mostly empty, Amazon box.The Lego set was fine. My kids love Lego and this is yet another set that works perfectly well and keeps them busy for a while. It then ends up on the floor, where it lies in wait for me before embedding deep into the arch of my foot. I'd give this set 5 stars if it weren't for the seemingly inevitable and gut wrenching foot injuries. There's a loft orange pieces in the set. Most pieces now have teeth marks and dried up old spit all over them, like the other sets that litter our disappointing suburban home.If you're still reading this then you probably want to buy Lego for a child. Here's my only tip for you to navigate the best sets. Kids don't care and will ask you for more and more of these sets. Figure out how many pieces in the set and divide by the total cost. If each piece is coming in at under 10 cents then that's fine. Over 10 cents and you walk away. One day you'll realise, like me, that you've bought your kids thousands of Lego pieces in various sets. At that stage you will feel good knowing that you went for quantity over quality. These sets won't get made again and again as the unique parts will disappear somewhere. At this point the kids will be building their own Lego creations, which will be lame buildings, space ships with weapons and odd looking square vehicles. Most of these creations will look like the messed up kid's toys in Toy Story. Just buy the set and make yourself feel like a good parent/aunt/uncle etc.My boys (6 & 3) have played with this set for hours and hours. My oldest saved his allowance to get this and his hard work paid off. This was the first "big set" he received and he couldn't be happier. I am amazed with the instructions for these sets. There were a lot of pieces but the instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. My 6 year old enjoyed putting together many of the bags himself. The conveyer belt is a very cool feature and my son loves the driller. The track on that vehicle is one of his favorite features. I think the dog sled is really cute. Lots of playability and they have since built up their artic snow area around it. Lots of creative fun. The orange is a great color scheme for this set as well.I bought this Lego set for my 11 year old grandson and he loves it. After I had already purchased this set from Amazon and wrapped it, we were in a Lego store and he really admired it and went to look at it longingly twice. I knew then that I had made exactly the right purchase. Right after opening he immediately set to work assembling it and did a very good job all by himself. As with all the Lego sets, they really think of adding the most minute details, which is just amazing. My grandson has become a lego fanatic. He can put them together just by looking at the box and will not have one piece out of place. This something that keeps him busy ofr all of a few minutes I'm talking 15 at the most. ONCE he's done to look on his face says it all and I'm proud to be able to put it on his face. thank you lego for making my grandson one happy camper. My son loved this Christmas present. Very happy with the purchase. He is 5 and did well with putting the Legos together, rarely needing help from his daddy (although his daddy enjoyed helping him). This is a neat series to play with anytime but especially during the winter months when the kiddies are stuck inside! We purchased the other sets that go with this series. If you have a Lego fan you won't be sorry with this purchase. We LOVE Legos! They make a great product and always include extra pieces. My son had no problem building this with the clear instructions provided. The set actually had many cool features including the modular build which has you build one part at a time (like the helicopter, then the snowmobile, etc). My son could take a break from building and play with what he had finished. Great concept! Our 9 year old son was hoping to get this for Christmas and built it in record time! He enjoys all the features of this set. He was slightly disappointed that the huskies he got all looked the same. Video reviews he had seen made it seem like they would have unique coloring patterns.Great looking LEGO set. This base camp was assembled in one morning by a 9 and 6 year old working together. There are lots of great pieces...male & female minifigures, husky dogs, a polar bear, lab gear, to name a few. This will be lots of fun to play wit now that it is assembled. This is probably one of the best releases from Lego recently with a good Science Base. What you have are lots of classic orange parts! Plus there are some rather useful distinctive parts specially designed for this set. If there is any real downside, then the skidoo is a simpler build - compared to the truck and base. Otherwise a very good set to collect and build. The build is robust lends and itself well in my city range of Lego products. There is very good play-ability to this set, a relatively good value for money set and you get some rather nice pieces like the tank-treads. This set is also a great add-on piece to anyone of the Arctic sets. For me the orange parts in the Arctic sets are nice and bright and are good pieces to have if you wish to create your own project. The mini-figures are nicely detailed, but for me the huskies in the dog team are the high-point of the set – they are brilliant. The highlights as I see them:1. A fun build2. Bright and colourful - the Lego bricks in Orange look cool3. So much room for modifications for other hauling adventures4. Lego Huskies5. Lego Huskies!!!We purchased the Arctic base camp as a Christmas gift. A month later it is still made up and in tact. Our son usually wants to take kits down and 'make them different', but this has stayed put, he loves it!The detail is great and really easy to put together. We did buy a green lego base board to secure it to, because once you start to moove it around, we found it could easily come apart. What can one say, it's lego. If your kid loves lego, they'll love this. My son had been collecting smaller kits in this set and finally asked Santa for this big one...and Santa delivered :) This camp is fun because he's able to open the buildings and engage in a plenty of imaginary play.Brilliant Lego as usual! our son has got it for his 7th birthday and we then bought it as a present afterwards to his best friend and I think some of his friends have asked Santa for one - great stuff for the boys! This set is great! It has it all. People, animals, vehicles and buildings. Great attention to detail. A great set to add to any Lego collection. My 6 year old is over the moon with his.
