I think these types of toys are great to keep dogs busy (especially food driven pups). With that said, I put in a few small training treats that may never come out. Her kibble is a hair smaller and will come out with quite a but of effort. I realize these aren't meant to dump everything and should be a bit of a challenge, but I have no idea what to put in besides kibble that will come out! Also, one piece of kibble every 5 min doesn't seem rewarding enough to keep her interested. Time will tell, but it seems kibble and training treats should fit in the hole and be released a bit easier. I may end up cutting off some of the "fingers" around the hole so it isn't quite so small.I bought the product for my aggressive chewer Chihuahua. I was attracted to this product for the sturdiness and ability to add treats to it. My dog had a hard time getting the treats (I also have a hard time getting the treats out) and whatever hair or dust, it sticks to it and it’s not the easiest to wash. Otherwise, it’s a good toy even if it’s a little hard for my Chihuahua to chew on.I have a 7 month old Belgian Malinois and he enjoyed playing with this. It is smaller than I’d have liked it to be (size is of a tennis ball) and it doesn’t fit much kibble. The challenge in our house is the ball gets stuck underneath the couch and tables so we have to follow him around! Otherwise, really durable rubber; he enjoys it for a short time but it makes him work for the treat! It’s worth the $14 IMO. I wouldn’t pay more than that though....I just thought it was going to be bigger. I bought size large, but it is only slightly larger than a tennis ball, smaller than a softball. It is well made, durable, and pretty chew proof. My dog couldn't get to the treat and became frustrated with it.I did what most people said to do in their reviews and just very slowly trimmed the prongs holding back the treats until I was satisfied with the amount of treats coming out per roll. My 3 month old puppy loves this toy and plays with it even when there are not any treats inside. It's durable and holds a good amount of small treats.Love this. It holds up to my chiweenies well, and keeps them entertained. I did need to trim the opening like the packaging said to. If you want to try trimming I'd recommend only trim one a tiny bit at a time so you don't trim too much down. I feel like the treats come out a little too easy now. My own fault since I got impatient. But overall it's great.Good toy for a hard chewers. My dog chomps down on balls super hard and this ball has withstood his super jaws. This is a very durable ball with nice ridges you could also spray some kong filling in. The one complaint is that the hole the treats are supposed to come out of is very small so for dogs that aren't super interested in these types of toys, it could be a problem. Alternatively, if you have an extremely determined dog, this could be the right toy for you
